In 2020, after the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, I had some savings, and seeing what was happening in the world with money, I decided to invest in myself. I didn’t have to think long about what I wanted to do. Ever since I was a child, I’ve been drawn to flying—first building kites with my grandfather, then building model airplanes with a friend from elementary school. Then came high school and college—a long hiatus—and finally, work, savings, and the fulfillment of my dreams.
I signed up for the PPL(A) course—both theory and practical—at the Nowy Targ Aeroclub. And, of course, I hit a wall. It turned out that on top of the training fee, I had to pay the ANT registration fee, the ANT membership fee, and insurance. This took me completely by surprise because it came to almost 2,000 PLN. They didn’t mention it anywhere, didn’t say a word—they just presented me with a fait accompli. Oh well—I survived, but I was already starting to get fed up.
After finishing the theory—many hours spent at ANT—I was assigned to an instructor. And that’s when the adventure began. My first time in the air, my first time in a plane, and my first scolding 🙂 The instructor flew with me a lot. He taught me a great deal.
